What is a BEd secondary? What's the difference between that and a degree program?

Wilbert Shellgren: The program you are signing up for is to take you into the direction of being a secondary school teacher. For secondary education, teachers need something called "teachables." To get a teachable in a subject area, you have to take a specified number of courses. Most of your courses will be in your primary teachable and give your bachelor of Science. You will minor in a second subject area could be math, english, history, geography, music, etc. It's good to have two backrounds as it opens you a little more when you are applying for the job market. If you only have Sciences to offer and there's no Science positions available, it's good to have a fall back. Just a suggestion! So all in all....everyone gets a primary degree a Bachelor of something. If you are mostly taking Science you will be going for a BSc - As a teacher you get a second degree, which is your Bachelor of Education.
