Myriam Hetjonk: Definitely file the paperwork for the appeal... it's worth the effort, and the absolute worst they can do is say no. Not much time to earn $5,000 before the fall semester... even scholarships won't happen that fast. If you have collateral, like a car that's paid for, perhaps you could get a loan. I think you best source for help though is to work with the financial aid office... they know all the angles and perhaps you'll find some sources that may have been overlooked otherwise.
