Zulema Baccam: training, exercise and attention
Neville Dautremont: They sell doggie puzzles, like little switches and compartments with treats in them and you're dog has to figure out how to get them out. They sell a few variations at petco and petsmart. Those seem to provide entertainment not to mention skill building.
Noah Deni: Perhaps she's lonely. Find her a friend. Not necessarily another dog but it's not natural to only have a human companion.
Gaston Edgcomb: Instead of just a few tricks, just take her to spend more time with you! Do house chores, see if she follows along! My lab does. :)Go for a long walk in a new place would deffinitely get her full attention. New smells, people, surroundings, everything!"
Ismael Sixon: Someone wrote about the treat puzzles - those are entertaining to dogs. We got this one from Petco: http://www.jbpet.com/dog-games-star-spinner-puzzle... then later we are going to get something similar to this: http://www! .petco.com/product/113691/Kyjen-Dog-Game... but more complex (3 games in 1)Have you tried playing sports with her, like soccer? Maybe you can teach her to kick a ball. How about hide-n-seek with toys? If you teach her the touch trick, you can teach her the names of objects, hide them, and have her smell them out! You can even tell her to put the objects in the right places when you are cleaning. In this link, there are 52 tricks. For touch, see 3, for object names, see 14, for putting things away, see 37, for searching for objects, see 38. You can also teach your dog to count (see 43), however, I don't like their method because they dumb it down for the dog. I taught my old lab how to count to four using 5's, but the fact that "give me five fives" is confusing stopped me from going further, so barks or another method is better. My lab would actually count my fingers and give as many fives as my fingers show. Dogs are smart creatures, so I think the more mathematical/less mem! orizational method is better. It's probably even possible to t! each dogs how to add numbers, once they know the basics!Oh and here is the 52 tricks link:http://www.doggiebuddy.com/topics/Trainingtopics/t......Show more
