Wilbert Shellgren: its not that they are making more cars its the economy automakers are building the same amount of cars the prices are getting high just like everything else the fuel prices have put a hold on the wallets of this country and we are still seeing the affects of the outrages prices and before we know it they will be back to the same price by this summer people have to buy cars for the automakers to keep making them
Tracy Huesso: yes the demand is low, and auto makers are building cars that no one will buy, and therefore, they have to cut down production, which also means, cut down jobs.we bail them out, because workers need the money to support themselves just like you and me need a job.

Dedra Furguson: No - they make the number that people will buy. They have been in a pricing death spiral, as I'm sure you've noticed, for a long time. They were "over" competing for the available market.That's a tough situ! ation to make decisions in. Somebody is going to take all the market. There are various ways you can compete, and of course lowering prices is one of them.At some point, one of the competitors has to chicken out, and the other guy will get to make the sale.So far, all the automakers that I know about have been very strict about stopping production to keep inventories from getting too big.
