Russell Mckinzie: Dear Friend, Thank you for your question. As you might be aware that, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is used to treat sperm related infertility concerns. This procedure has been done in phases. To start with sperm collection there are certain blood tests plus genetic testing has been recommended by Fertility experts. Most of such tests you have already gone through and good news is they are normal mostly. MTHFR heterozygous genes are very common among population and very less problematic (hardly result into anything). Besides during ovulation and egg retrieval phase, fertility expert will ! check your blood estrogen levels and perform ultrasound to see whether eggs are maturing in the follicles or not. This is required to see whether your ovaries are producing sufficient eggs after hormonal injections. As follicles develop completely, you will be injected with human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) injection for maturation. Then the mature eggs will be collected approximately 36 hours later using laparoscopy or needle aspiration guided ultrasound from the ovaries. In order to keep your Folic Acid level up you would be required regular oral dosage of folic acids which your doctor can prescribe or you may start your own as they are available over the counter at Pharmacy store.
