Clay Lipira: There are a few differences:Movie theater sweet spot size is generally larger meaning that you can sit farther off-center of the screen and still get good 3D effects.Active shutter glasses require recharging occasionallyCost...active shutter glasses are way more expensive. There are also TVs that use static 3D glasses, but you lose 1/2 the vertical resolution.Definitely try these out in the store before you make a purchase. Some stores have a fixed set of 3D glasses right in front-center of the TV....of course 3D looks great through those. Make them give you a pair so you can walk around in front of the TV and look at it from various angles.Good luck!...Show more
Ulysses Failey: same thing.
Sherrill Botting: When you see a movie in a movie theatre, you are usually viewing film which has much more than double the resolution of Blu-Ray discs. So you can not match the 3D experience with your home theatre even with active shutter glasses.
